FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) and answers about the Rapids FC:

  1. When are games held?

Games are mostly local and within one hour of Ada/Cascade. One half of our games are home games in Ada. We travel less than 2 hours a few times each year.

  2. How long is the season?

The season lasts from late August thru October, then from late March to mid-June. You are making a commitment to sign up for the whole year.

  3. How much does it cost?

Team members pay $325 for the year, plus a uniform package. The uniform package is typically less than $100 and includes a full Nike uniform kit and accessories. Additional Rapid FC gear will be offered in 2013/2014 at the parent/player’s option.

  4. Who are the coaches?

Coaches: are all licensed and experienced coaches. While many of our coaches are parents, all have played years of competitive soccer and many have played college soccer.

  5. What is the club’s level of play

Most of our teams are mid-level select soccer teams and some of our younger teams have players new to select soccer. Many of Rapids FC players are capable of playing premier or a very high level of select soccer but opt for Rapids FC due to our commitment to player development while maintaining a balance of soccer with other things important in a young person’s life.

  6. Do you play in additional tournaments?

Each team plays in 2-3 tournaments per year. This year, we have played in tournaments in Lansing and Traverse City.  Tournament fees (which are extra) average about $40 per player per tournament.

  7. Does Rapids FC have a summer camp?

Our camp is scheduled for the week of August 20th and is open to all Rapids FC players at no additional cost.

  8. Does the club do additional training throughout the year?

In addition to regular season coaching and team camp, we have done Fall and Winter training at Woodland Sports, MVP and Forest Hill gymnasiums. Training is done with Rapids FC coaching staff and Director of Coaching Michael Lee. In 2013/2014 we look to expand our 3v3 training during the winter. All training is included in your registration fees. Indoor leagues are optional.
